Mr. Caddell lived in Kentucky until moving to his wife's hometown of Hanover County, Virginia in 2005. During law school, Mr. Caddell worked as a law clerk for a Court of Appeals judge and a Circuit Court judge. As a law clerk, Mr. Caddell was responsible for researching and analyzing legal issues for each judge. His analysis helped those judges reach decisions in hundreds of criminal cases.

After moving to Hanover, Mr. Caddell litigated constitutional cases in federal courts around the country. He, then, accepted a position as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Hanover County. As a prosecutor, Mr. Caddell handled thousands of traffic and criminal cases involving reckless driving, drunk driving, underage possession of alcohol, firearms, and possession and distribution of drugs. Mr. Caddell also instructed new police officers on how to prepare for and testify at trial.

Mr. Caddell now defends individuals charged with traffic infractions, including speeding and failure to obey a traffic sign, and traffic related crimes, including reckless driving, drunk driving, hit and run, and eluding a police officer in the cities of Richmond and Colonial Heights and the Counties of Chesterfield, Henrico, Powhatan, Hanover, Sussex, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Caroline.
